For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5v7
Have you ever felt God's grace and love so deeply that you thought it would swallow you up? A sense of His complete sufficiency, and with it a sense of your own absolute insufficiency so strong that you can but cling to Christ? The Lord Is Good, but None Can See is a poeticised collection of thoughts on one of God's many wondrous ways to make us realise that He is in control and His way is not only best, but also desirable.
The Lord is good, but none can see
As human eyes but shut can be
He is revealed to mortal man,
Who cannot grasp His endless span.
This boundless God like riches grants
To people in His sight but ants,
Yet He shows love to such degree
Who cannot overwhelmèd be?
In seas of grace and love this vast
Man’s anchor but in vain is cast.
No work of man can here suffice,
But will dissolve in Calvary’s price.
The moment one may fear to drown
His hand of mercy reaches down
It pulls them to the Saviour’s breast
Where grace and love provide a rest.
The Lord is good may one now see
And thank the Lord on bended knee:
“Oh blessed lack of sight that stirred
My faith to grow to trust His Word.”
